Cheryl is the chief editor of Relating Systems Thinking and Design, founding editor of Contexts—The Systemic Design Journal, and a Systemic Design Association board member. She previously served as an adviser and board member at the Canadian Race Relations Foundation and as the social innovation practice lead at MaRS Discovery District.
A five-time executive director, she has established partnership networks and collaborative systems across social, community, health, and government services. As executive director of Findhelp Information Services, she led the development of Canada’s 211 information system, which received the Head of the Public Service Award for Excellence in Service Delivery. She began her career as a journalist and theatre director before founding a green business in 1989, redirecting her work toward social innovation. Cheryl holds an MDes in strategic foresight and innovation from OCAD University, and her doctoral research at London South Bank University examines leadership in organizations with complex missions.
