Based in Spain, Lucía has lived with type 1 diabetes for over 33 years and is a lawyer specializing in patients’ rights. She also serves as a Commissioner for The Lancet Group Global Health Commission on People-Centred Care for Universal Health Coverage, is actively involved in EU-funded projects focused on health technology assessment EDiHTA, early feasibility studies for medical devices in the EU HEU-EFS, and innovative health financing models Invest4Health Horizon Europe Project.
Lucía also acts as Trustee and Lived Experience Lead for Psychosocial Aspects of Diabetes Study Group and as a global adviser for OVOV with the NCD Alliance.
